Touch CMS - Adding a Product

Touch can handle multiple types of products which are configured within the build of the web site. Each type of product (e.g. book, clothing, PDA) can have its own associated information such as manufacturer, author, size, weight e.t.c.

When you add a product (as opposed to editing an existing product) then you are presented with a wizard that guides you through the process of entering the product information.

• Step 1 - Select the department folder where you want to add a new product and select "add product". You are then presented with a list of product types and select the product type you require.
  
  
  
  
• Step 2 - Enter the product type specific information requested.
  
  
  
  
• Step 3 - Enter the product description using the built in WYSIWYG editor.
  
  
  
  
• Step 4 - Enter the product price (special offer price can be entered here as well).
  
  
  
  
• Step 5 - Upload product images (automatically scaled and compressed for web site).
  
  
  
  
• Step 6 - Upload product documents. Select "Done" when happy with the product information entered.
  
  
  
  
• Complete - The product will then appear in the department selected in a state of "Holding" which means it is not live on the web site until requested.
