Touch CMS - Barcoding
At this point we not only have acknowledged the order but the order as we know can be in various states be it “New”, “Process”, “Packaging” or “Dispatched”.
This is all well and good but how quickly can an order be viewed on screen to change the status when the order has arrived back from the warehouse or perhaps your courier has just taken all your parcels for the day and you need to send off email notifications before going home and time is tight?
Getting to the order information to change the status is as important as the status of the order itself because without speed then the order is left in a state of falling behind. Now you don’t want a status of “Behind” do you? Your staff need to react quickly and effortlessly and we deal with this in a unique way, through the use of bar coding.
Bar coding is the most efficient and cost effective way we provide to get the order information you need on screen in the least amount of time. How quick? Well, what about the speed of light, or in this case, laser light!
Each and every order you print off comes complete with its own unique barcode which is in fact the same code as the order number as written out on the order. The barcode is printed above the delivery and invoice address on the dispatch note which as you will find out later gives you another efficiency method.
In essence, each member of staff would have a barcode reader attached to their computer (through a regular USB port) and in order to bring up order details, the member of staff in Touch presses the barcode button, scans the barcode and automatically the order invoice appears on screen for status amending.
Barcoding is the most efficient way for your staff to get to order information fast.
